Jull & Edith– Interiors of Art

View the whole press release

The beginning of the year brought a new, exciting liaison of two artists. Since many years, both of them have been introducing art to interiors of private residences and hotels all over Europe.
Edith – designer and owner of the Baranska Design Studio, has since many years been taking part in fairs in Milan, London, Dubai – creating light installations pictures, furniture and hotel built-in units.
Jull – sculptor, painter, owner of 3 art galleries, lives on the Ibiza Island – has been working with private collectors, hotels, and restaurants, mainly in Germany and Spain.
Merger of their artistic and designing experiences resulted in a new collection of furniture, walls, and lamps where Jull's unusual and intriguing sculptures and paintings meet Edith's innovative art of glass application.
The first collection of lamps and furniture will be, as a whole, presented in April, in Milan, but the prototypes of a table with sculptures hidden in the glass top and light-emitting walls will be presented earlier in London, during the Surface Design Show.
A side table of fashionable, geometric shape, made from wood coated with silver leaves is closed on top with a thick fusion glass with impressed human faces. The same motif is visible on the walls which may be an artistic cladding, or when backlit – may take the role of monumental wall light.
Jull and Edith have just been working on a whole set of side tables, cabinets, and lamps for various types of interiors.

Venetian glass with the 3D effect

View the whole press release

Merger of the oldest technology of glass dying, known as early as in the 13th century in the Venetian Murano glass works, with the most modern, innovative technology of fusing of many layers of glass in very high temperatures gave rise to these incredible 3D effects.
Since many years, Baranska Design Studio has been looking for untypical ways of glass applications – as lighting elements, furniture, or walls of private houses and hotels. This time, application of a very old and difficult technology of glass dying by means of metal oxides which react inside the glass sheet, and thanks to the multiple light refraction in result of light passing through many fused glass layers creates an uncanny 3D effect. The eye experiencing an optical illusion discovers an unusual light, colour and texture reflections in very thick glass sheets. Due to employment of this technology, the manufacturer is able to grant 20-year guarantee for colour keeping. Glass sheets are used as kitchen tops, tables, or hotel reception desk tops, and they contribute to a unique, prestigious and elegant character of every interior.
Examples of such glass objects will be presented at the Surface Design Show in London, on the Baranska Design Studio stand No. 326.
