Polygood® by The Good Plastic Company showcased at Surface Design Show 2024

The Good Plastic Company will use its flagship product Polygood® to depict Climate Stripes, a foreboding graphic of vertical bars representing every year’s global average temperature increase recorded from 1850-2022. After being at Paris Design Week and Dutch Design Week last year, the installation made out of 2,865kg of 100% recycled plastic, will now be showcased at Surface Design Show in London. Visitors will experience a captivating array of cool blues shift to fiery reds — the 1.2° C increase in temperature that has caused global warming and extreme weather events.

 

Polygood® offers 100% recycled and recyclable plastic panels for creating environmentally-conscious furniture and design elements. Their manufacturing process works at industrial-scale capacity to produce over 100 different Polygood® patterns, each originating from distinct post-consumer and post-industrial plastic waste streams. Sources include
refrigerators, single-use cutlery, household appliances, and manufacturing components, giving every panel a different aesthetic and character. The Good Plastic Company holds both Cradle to Cradle® certification and an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). The company has completed over 750 international projects for clients including Nike, Adidas, IKEA, McDonald's, Samsung, and BMW, delivering solutions for furniture, surfacing, and design elements.
