Billings Jackson Design, LED Linear and V-Cut investigates the relationship between material, light and art with the public launch of Silent Light and V-Cut’s other factory formed plasterboard light coves. LED Linear’s previous forays into the world of material, light and art included a collaboration with architect Smiljan Radić, Aecom and project partners Architectural FX in the development of this year’s celebrated Serpentine Gallery Pavilion. Working with the effects of lighting on the interior surface of the fibreglass shell of the Pavilion was a major project focus, with the intention of creating a warm, welcoming and visually interesting atmosphere. Radić said of the end result, “At night, the semi-transparency of the shell, together with a soft amber-tinted light, draws the attention of passers-by like lamps attracting moths”. Similarly V- Cut’s new products create artistic focus, bringing a new dimension to architectural lighting design, with endless possibilities.
