Cimento® Press
For CIMENTO®, 2025 has started with participation in major international trade fairs. After Maison&Objet in Paris and Klimahouse in Bolzano, the company is now present at the Surface Design Show, a trade fair dedicated to interior and exterior surfaces, held in London at the Business Design Centre from February 4 to 6. The event offers an opportunity to showcase the latest innovations from the Venetian brand, including finishes and surfaces.
The protagonist will be CIMENTO®, a thin and flexible coating that uses over 90% mineral aggregates mixed with a binder containing a minimum quantity of cement and mostly waste materials from quarries. This process minimizes the waste of non-renewable resources and helps protect natural heritage.
In London, at an exhibition space that fully expresses CIMENTO®'s vision of innovation, sustainability, and designer craftsmanship, visitors will have the chance to experience the material itself and its endless applications. Among the products on display will be the Formelle collection, a range of three-dimensional elements that showcase the versatility of CIMENTO® through a wide variety of textures, colors, and surface applications. The Salso tiles evoke the erosion of brackish water on stone, the Riva tiles, with their irregular edges, replicate the gentle movement of waves along the shore, while the Fondo line recalls elements found in Venice’s canals, such as clay and glass. Finally, Calle reinterprets the complexity of Venice’s streets. This series is designed by Patricia Urquiola, the brand’s creative director. Completing the offering are the Tondo and Querini Formelle by Elisa Ossino, characterized by reliefs that create refined chiaroscuro effects and striking combinations in space. Inspired by pure geometry, they evoke a brutalist aesthetic, enhanced by neutral and sober tones.
The exhibits in London highlight the material’s
versatility and provide a comprehensive overview of the possibilities offered
by CIMENTO®, a unique material that,
crafted with passion and artisanal skill, meets the highest standards of
quality and sustainability. The compound is known for its wide range of
applications and is available in an extensive color palette, fitting various
contexts from residential spaces to public areas, retail, and hospitality, as
demonstrated by the many collaborations over the years.
The London show, where CIMENTO® participates
together with its partner Cemento UK,
will be a preview specifically thought for architects and designers to
anticipate the novelties presented at the Milano Design Week in April and in
the coming months.
