SURFACE DESIGN AWARDS SHORTLIST 2025

Congratulations to everyone shortlisted for 2025! 

Surface Design Awards has been an extension of the Surface Design brand for 13 years. The Awards celebrates excellence in the innovation and use of surfaces across the built environment, the judges and team were delighted by the exceptional level of quality entries this year, and we cannot wait to announce the esteemed winners at the 2025 Awards.

Surface Design Awards 2025 will take place in a revised and refreshed format. For the first time, it will be an evening event, on Wednesday 5 February 2025at 6:00pm. The new format will give access to any visitor to Surface Design Show, giving a wider audience the chance to celebrate the successes of the finalists and eventual winners. Priority access will be given to the Awards Sponsors, Judges and Finalists).  

Trophies have been created and provided by Good Plastics Company, who have worked with the Surface Design Awards Team to create a lasting product, in line with the 2025 Show theme; Creative Conscious

Judged by an esteemed panel of design and architectural professionals, headed up by Jorge Méndez-Cáceres, Founding Director, For Everyday Life and Tony Chambers, Founder, TC & Friends, the Surface Design Awards have been designed to encourage both small and large practises or projects to gain recognition from their peers, as well as encouraging them to attend Surface Design Show.  

The Awards will start at 6:00pm on Wednesday 5th February 2025, and will take place on the Main Stage by Procédés Chénel, on the Gallery Level of the Business Design Centre. The Awards will be hosted by Property Expert, Kunle Barker.  

After introductions from the host, the finalists will be announced and invited to the stage to collect their awards and for picture opportunities. Winners will then be invited to the Designer’s Hub for reaction interviews.  

The Awards will finish at 8pm.

These could be either part of the private or public sector and could be individual dwellings or multi-dwelling developments. Social rented, affordable rented and intermediate housing, provided to specified eligible households whose needs are not met by the market are included.

The innovative use of light and the way it is inextricably linked to surfaces, whether it’s the effect the light has on the surrounding surfaces or the materials used to create the light.


 

Surface of the Year
Surface of the Year

Interior: recognises wall, floor, ceiling and surface design products, including decorative, creative and inventive surfaces for the interior of buildings including both commercial and residential properties. 

Exterior: recognises wall and surface design products including decorative, creative and inventive surfaces for the exterior of building including both commercial and residential properties.
