Congratulations to everyone shortlisted for 2025! 

The Surface Design Awards shortlist has been announced (November 2024). The judges and team were delighted by the exceptional level of quality entries this year, and we cannot wait to announce the esteemed winners at the 2025 Awards. Find out who has been shortlisted below.  

The Surface Design Awards will follow a new, refreshed format in 2025 and will take place on Wednesday 5 February. Your ticket to Surface Design Show will give you access to the Awards – click here to register.

Commercial Buildings that are used for commercial purposes, including retail, hospitality, workplaces, factories and warehouses and buildings where commercial services are provided. At least 50 percent of the buildings’ floor space will be used for commercial activities.

Buildings such as houses, flats and apartments that are used for sheltering people. These could be either part of the private or public sector and could be individual dwellings or multi-dwelling developments. Social rented, affordable rented and intermediate housing, provided to specified eligible households whose needs are not met by the market are included.

The innovative use of light and the way it is inextricably linked to surfaces, whether it’s the effect the light has on the surrounding surfaces or the materials used to create the light.

Surface of the Year

Interior: recognises wall, floor, ceiling and surface design products, including decorative, creative and inventive surfaces for the interior of buildings including both commercial and residential properties. 

Exterior: recognises wall and surface design products including decorative, creative and inventive surfaces for the exterior of building including both commercial and residential properties.

Architectural Photography
Architectural Photography

Photography focusing on architecture and interior design including exterior or interior images. Both amateurs and professional photographers are invited to enter this Award.
